Puffing Billing is a steam train that runs from Belgrave to Gembrook (about 20kms.) through the fern tree rainforests of The Dandenongs.
It is a leisurely ride taking over an hour to complete the journey, stopping off at Emerald, Menzies Creek and Lakeside to pick up passengers and refuel along the way.
Sherbrooke Forest is situated in the Dandenong Ranges, about an hour south east of Melbourne. This picturesque National Park is filled with lush ferns, gums trees and colourful birds.
We had a nice afternoon strolling around in the fresh air, although Nicole managed to step into a creek and get her foot wet.
